We’ve definitely talked about my planner addiction before.
I am drawn to them everywhere I go. I have been super picky and choosy about them lately. Going back to my old pal franklin covey which has a nice layout, but they are lacking things I want out of a planner. Even Erin Condren leaves me wanting lined months and weeks and other specifics. So I decided to make my own.
Little did I know what I was getting myself into. I have a new appreciation planner making :)
I used Adobe InDesign to make my planner. First I doodled on a piece of paper all the things I wanted on each week. Then I took that to my computer and started to work. After I got the first couple of pages how I wanted them, all I had to do was copy and paste… and also change the dates :) you can do it it too! Or you can purchase the one I made here.
Here is an awesome link on how to do double sided printing so the week of march 13th comes after the week of march 6th and so on.
I used 30# bright white super smooth paper. I wanted it thick enough not to show words through the other side, but still thin enough to move like regular paper. I wanted it smooth for writing and I love the look and feel!
Every month ends with a spending log, journaling, ideas, a “thankful for” page, and a cute quote.
Binding was $4 at a local print stop and it took less than a day.
My favorite pencil? My TUL from office max :) love!
Write it in pencil unless it is unchangeable like Christmas, because plans change!
It is super important to me to be able to have a large space to write things I am thankful for. Research is just proving this one time and time again that writing our gratitude creates a more peaceful, fulfilled, and joyful life. It just makes sense to write what I am thankful for as I am planning my days.
I made the cover and back with scrapbook paper and laminated them and had them all in order when I took it to the print shop.
Details on the planner I made:
This is a monthly weekly planner. The weeks are vertical with To-Dos and goals in each week.
Each month has a lined page to write what you are thankful for to keep up your practice of gratitude. Each month also has a page for notes and ideas, a spending tracker, and a fun quote.
Each month is lined!
Each day is lined with morning, afternoon, and evening sections as well as a section to plan dinner!
Similar to Erin Condren’s layout – I just wanted lined! And I wanted to be able to decorate a black and white planner with my own ephemera and stickers :)
This is a weekly planner with 2 page per week and 2 page month layouts. Lovely calligraphy and type fonts in black and white. Includes US holidays.
